Calliope was born four weeks ago yesterday. She already seems so much bigger. She can lift her head surprisingly well, and she opens her eyes much more. She is also very good at spitting up–the nurse dubbed her a “happy spitter”–so we’re doing a fair bit of laundry!!!

Kerry and Caitlin are visiting us, so it is a full house! The goal for the week is to publish a post every day, so keep checking in…

Just before her wedding, Auntie Avery dropped in to meet her new niece. Then at three weeks of age, Calliope dressed to her tiny nines and celebrated the wedding of Avery and new Uncle Edwin. Sullivan, in seersucker, melted some hearts as he scattered rose petals while descending the bridal staircase.

Three days old

Don’t worry, we’re still taking plenty of pictures–it’s just harder to find the time to upload them! More are available if you follow the link below the photo, as usual.

Her little bit of jaundice faded away quickly, and she’s figured out the eating thing. Now if she’d figure out the spitting up and sleeping things, this would be easy.

Oz not convenient? Walk Calliope Street in New Orleans. While there, walk along the Mississippi and listen to the calliope of the steamboat Natchez (it might be easier to “>listen online).
