Of a feather?

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

The sun wakes; he’s the only child.
A drop of coffee floating on his milk,
The table to himself,
Words rushing to get out.

She’s the one to see the moon.
Playing with his favorite toys,
Putting on his hat and shoes,
No one to take them back or knock her down—

The night owl and the early bird.

Anyone got any names?

(on flickr)

While this has been (and should remain) “Watching Sullivan,” we’re thinking about the name of the blog for the new addition. Any suggestions? (Don’t worry, we’re in pretty good shape for boy/girl names… :)

Also, here’s a “guest pass for the Sullivan photos on Flickr. Just visit it once, and you should be able to see any photos of Sullivan that have been marked private for family. You can always find the guest pass at the top of the sidebar on the right.

And here’s another pic of the bump!

RSS in your future

Tuesday, October 18th, 2005

We’re still taking and posting lots of photos, but we’ve been a little slow on posting text, which makes it harder to stay plugged in to SMG’s life. If you want to stay informed of changes, RSS (here is some info) is the answer.

Be the first to know about updates! The simplest way is to subscribe to the updates using RSSFWD, which will send you an email every time there is a new post on the blog.

But there are better ways to use RSS. I use Bloglines to keep in touch with RSS feeds from all sorts of sources. Bloglines is a free online service that lets you subscribe, organize, and track all kinds of information. Google has a feed reader in development too. You can see a bunch of options by looking at the buttons down the right hand bar of this page (MSN, Yahoo, NewsGator, etc).

There are stand news readers too, such as feed demon, or you can use Firefox, Thunderbird, and perhaps even Outlook with a plugin to manage your feeds.

Still reading??? If you’ve heard me talk tech recently, you’ve probably heard me mention Flickr. You have also been warned that it is digital crack. If you are interested in Marsh’s non-Sullivan photos, find them here.

At the movies

Tuesday, October 18th, 2005

You asked for it–movies! (Well one movie at least for now.)

However, you’ll need to download and install a codec to be able to see it. The Intel Indeo 5.x codec can be downloaded here. Pay attention to where you save that file so that you can run it once it has downloaded! After you run it, you should be able to play the movie without any trouble…
Except if you have a Mac, in which case you can try to boot in OS9 and use Quicktime 6 with the Indeo plug-in, or find a friend who uses a PC.

Let us know if you have any troubles. It’s worth the effort to see Muggins in motion!

End of the summer

year1/month4/PICT0070.jpgWhile we have taken time to snap photos, we have been busy with the end of the summer and beginning of school! Apologies for not getting to this sooner, but starting daycare and enjoying the last days of August has kept us from blogging. Hopefully we’ll get to some blog updates shortly, but in the meantime here are some photos of Month 4 to keep you entertained. We do have lots of stories to tell…
