Sullivan figured out how to roll over and decided he liked sleeping better on his stomach. The first few nights we awoke regularly to check his breathing until we were sure that he was ok. His most favorite (or at least his cutest) sleeping position is on his side.

Our weeks have been busy, and we’re still getting the hang of being working parents. As a result, our weekends have become catchup time. We are getting out for walks, etc, but it seems we do a lot of maintenance to keep our weeks running smoothly. We will probably get better with repetition, but it has been an adjustment for sure.

year1/month4/PICT0258.jpgSMG loves to hang in his Jolly Jumper! He hasn’t figured out how to jump per se, but he gets a kick out of standing on his own two feet. Plus the attached tray is a great drool catcher.

Speaking of which, drool production is up, perhaps an indication that the first teeth are working their way out. We imagine that we can see some bulges on his lower gums, but then again they could just be bulges. Sullivan is also very into chewing things. His favorite chew toy is a fingertip or knuckle.

Many teachers gave support to Teressa who broke out in tears a few times the first day. One even brought her flowers she was so touched. Returning to work was particularly bitter because in Canada we would have enjoyed a 12 month parental leave. Isn’t that enlightened?

Mondays are the hardest, and Sullivan comes home exhausted, something he no doubt inherited from his mother, hater of Mondays. He brought his first cold home from daycare and had a 101 F (about 38.5 C) degree fever as well. At the doctor’s office he was smiling and talking away. Doc was surprised to find that he really was sick and commented several times on how happy and chatty he is. Another surprise was that he’s up to 15 lbs 10 oz! This baby is growing…

End of the summer

year1/month4/PICT0070.jpgWhile we have taken time to snap photos, we have been busy with the end of the summer and beginning of school! Apologies for not getting to this sooner, but starting daycare and enjoying the last days of August has kept us from blogging. Hopefully we’ll get to some blog updates shortly, but in the meantime here are some photos of Month 4 to keep you entertained. We do have lots of stories to tell…
