Week 7 - Preparing for Calgary

Thursday, July 14th, 2005

Sullivan is very much looking forward to his first rodeo, the Calgary Stampede. He has in fact never been inside the famous Saddledome (condemned by architects as unsafe when the design was chosen). Best of all he’ll get to meet his aunts, uncles, friends, cousins, and great-grandmother!

The biggest new development this week is that Sullivan has learned to take a bottle.
Now he can get up in the middle of the night with Dad! (Though Mom points out that, “He hasn’t yet.”)

Sullivan also took a trip to visit summer school.

And he loves his new boppy.

Again, sorry for the dearth of updates. We’ll get back to a more predictable schedule when we return from Calgary. In the meantime, be sure to check out the photo gallery. You can reach it in the sidebar on the right.

Also, consider subscribing to the blog. You can use RSS and be notified of updates (see links on the right), or you can send email to Marsh and ask to be added to the notification list.

Week 6 - Auntie Avery

Friday, July 8th, 2005

Auntie Avery arrived and began to teach Sullivan how to play the piano as well as the names of the sitting justices on the supreme court.

Teressa spotted Sullivan sucking his thumb in the middle of the night.

431
He has taken to his pacifier!

425
Sullivan has a minor case of cradle cap (think baby dandruff).

427
SMG made his first trip to Indian Point. We had to take drastic measures so the mosquitoes didn’t carry him away.

457
He’s begun grabbing a fistfull of our clothes. We suspect that this is a strategy to keep from being set down when he falls asleep…

449
Sullivan smiles back at us from time to time–particularly around 9-10 a.m.

Sullivan went to his first movie at the Saco Drive-in. His parents later regretted the double feature that put them home at 2:30 a.m.

437
He also saw his first fireworks and wasn’t impressed (of course he wasn’t really unimpressed either; he just slept).

He’s begun to “skootch” backwards in his bassinet.

Our laptop had a nasty crash (with some data loss)… we’re working on it, but it has caused a wrinkle in our blogging. Apologies! We’ll soon have a much better system in place.
